The Web Team runs two types of training sessions throughout the calendar year; Beginner and Intermediate. All web publishers need to complete a beginner training course on use of Squiz Matrix before being granted access to the WCMS.
If you have been nominated by your supervisor and endorsed by the Web Team to be a web publisher, you will first need to successfully complete the beginner publisher training module. This will ensure you have the necessary skills and knowledge to maintain the integrity of the UON website.
- Beginner Module* (4hrs) -includes: Principles of the UON website; Getting started; Creating assets; Creating and formatting content; Hyperlinks; Images; Metadata; News and Events; Accessibility; Workflow.
To register for the next beginner training session, you will need to complete the Beginner Training Request Form. Once your request has been assessed by a member of the Web Team, you will be invited to the next available training session.
Note: If publishing does not occur in Squiz Easy Edit within three months after receiving access, permissions to the system will be removed. If access is still required, you may register to attend the next available beginner training session.
Once you have completed the beginner training module and are comfortable with basic publishing, additional training modules are available to extend or refresh your publishing capabilities.
- Intermediate Module* (3.5hrs) – incl. Working in the sidebar; The footer; More complex content layout.
To register for the next intermediate training session, you will need to complete the Intermediate Training Request Form.
*Please note that each training session has a limited number of places available (approx. 10). If your preferred session is full, you will be placed on a list for the next available session.
